Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions? We’ve got answers.
What is Stock the Shelves?
Stock the Shelves is a firmwide, internal fundraising challenge that brings KPMG offices together to support First Book and help expand access to books and educational resources for students, educators, and communities.
Launching on September 14th during National Literacy Month and concluding on October 23rd in alignment with National Friends of Libraries Week, the campaign aims to help provide access to 15,000 books and educational resources through First Book.
Together, we can help stock shelves with enough books to exceed the size of an average school library, strengthening learning environments and expanding access to reading opportunities nationwide.
When does the campaign run?
September 14 through October 23, 2026.
Who can participate?
All KPMG professionals are welcome to participate and support the campaign.
How do donations work?
Donations are made directly through First Book’s fundraising platform. Only contributions made through this channel or your office’s GoFundMe Pro page (formerly Classy) will count toward that office’s fundraising total and leaderboard standings.
How are offices grouped?
Offices are grouped by office headcount to create a fair and engaging competition. Each office’s fundraising progress will be tracked on the leaderboard throughout the campaign. Progress is updated every 5 minutes as donations are made.
Are there matching opportunities?
Yes. The first three offices in each size category to raise $1,000 will unlock a $1,000 matching contribution, doubling the impact of their fundraising efforts.
Are there prizes or recognition?
Yes. The top fundraising office in each size category (small, medium, and large) will receive $5,000 to support a First Book-eligible school or nonprofit organization of its choice.
